Vigil for Victims of Violence

The second monthly Victims of Violence Candlelight Vigil was held last Sunday, December 6th, on the Walking Mall in Winchester. Becky Rager, UU Shenandoah's Social Action and Justice Chair, organized this vigil, held on the first Sunday of the month. December's vigil focused on those lost to violence on our school campuses, and also took a moment to honor Trans Day of Remembrance. Our Board President, Liz England, attended this month's vigil, and shared this reflection: "We had a good turnout of about 35 people on a cold night! We extinguished our candles with the UU Shenandoah chalice extinguishing words." January's vigil will be held on Sunday, January 4th - exact time will be posted in our church news and on our new SAJ calendar on our website. All are welcome. Becky Rager shares, "We hope you will join us as we continue to stand together in reflection, solidarity, and hope."
