Fear Not
Rev. Leah DeLong
Fear is an emotion awakened by a perceived threat, real or imagined. It involves a range of physiological and psychological responses, often leading to behavioral changes like fight, flight, or freeze. Fear can lead to action or confine us to our homes. Prophets, sages and friends tell us “Fear not,” but how can we do that in troublesome times?
Reverend Leah Carleton DeLong is a United Methodist pastor, serving rural congregations over 20 years before retiring. She graduated from Seton Hill University with a degree in Biology. After raising two children, she completed a Master of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary. In retirement she enjoys gardening, tending houseplants, monitoring Bluebird nest boxes at Blandy Experimental Farm, Belle Grove, and her backyard, and sewing, especially quilting. She recently returned to making baskets after a 30-year hiatus. She shares a home in Middletown with Dana and two Husky mix dogs, Balto and Jasper.
